Perimeters on WordPress?

First, what perimeters are for?

If you don’t want to display your custom message on all the pages of your website, you can use the perimeters feature to display the message only on pages where the perimeter is set.

Step 1. Create a custom message

To start, go to the AdBack plugin on the message tab, directly in your WordPress interface ( or on the AdBack dashboard). Create the message you want and customize it. In the 7th part (targeting, frequency, scenario). Give a name to your perimeter and keep the name, you’ll need it later on.

To ensure a good detection of perimeters, we ask you to name them in a differentiating way from the first characters.

Exemple: prefer ‘FRmessage’, ‘ENmessage” rather than ‘messagerFR’, ‘messageEN’.

Step 2. Create a widget zone

– First, install and activate the  Easy Custom Sidebars plugin.

– Go to Appearence > Theme sidebars

– Create a sidebar by naming it and saving changes.

– On the left-hand side, click on “Pages”, tick the pages on which you want to display the message and add them to your sidebar.

– In the dropdown menu, select the zone which will be replaced by the one you just created. You can select an unused zone, for example “Footer 1”.

– Save changes.

3. Add your perimeter

– Go to Appearence > Widgets

– The zone you’ve just created is here, with the other zones. Add a “custom HTML” widget to the created zone (here, demo).

– Leave the “title” field blank. In the content, add the following script and replace “perimeter1” with the perimeter defined when you created your custom message.

<script>var adback_configuration = adback_configuration || {}; adback_configuration.perimeter = 'perimeter1';</script>

– Save. Your message sould be displayed on the selected pages. You can even display different message depending on the language by creating different messages with different perimeters.

IMPORTANT: If your messages are not displayed, make sure they are published. Just go to the configuration page of your messages, check their status and publish them if they are not.
